Siatica Symptoms

Siatica pain varies in individuals depending upon the cause. But one must be aware of the minor symptoms of sciatica as they have the potential to grow into bigger problems. The most common siatic pain is the back pain which usually accompanies all the other pains. This usually begins when the main siatic nerve is compressed or irritated. Within this central nerve are nerve roots that branch out into the lower part of the body. Some of the most common sciatic symptoms are:

A)Buttock siatica symptom
The area below the main head of the siatic nerve is most likely to be affected with even the slightest irritation to the main siatic nerve. This is usually the case where sciatic pain is the result of age related factors.

B)A cramping sensation of the thigh
The siatic nerve extends through the back of the thigh in its route. Muscle spasms and low blood circulation may produce cramping sensations in this area which is one of the most popular symptoms of sciatica. Siatic pain in the legs is even worse that the back pain.

C)Shooting pains from the buttock, down the leg
The starting point of the sciatic nerve is the spine in the lower back from where it extends through the back of the legs to the feet. Another symptom of siatica is when you experience pain in irregular bursts from the buttock down the leg.

D) Tingling, or pins-and-needles sensations in the legs and thighs
A numbness type sensation is felt in the legs and thighs. Again this may be due to the irritation of the main nerve which affects these body parts in this way

E) A burning sensation in the thigh
A sense of burning in the back of the thigh could also be caused by compression of the sciatic nerve. This heated sensation is a form of siatic pain.
